YOUR SKIN IS YOUR VISA: Nigerians in diaspora.
i wasn't really shock when i heard
On my way from the airport one sunny day I engaged in discussion with my bus driver and he said American police officers don’t respect black men, he told me of how he was embarrassed at an establishment and on calling the police they turned the whole thing on him.
Sighs, I don’t really blame them the
truth is no matter how much noise you make Abroad is not your home land so if
they barbecue you alive they are right in some way, they see it as a kind of
population control, I mean didn't we send Ghanaian's out of our great country Nigeria even to the extent of giving them "Ghana must go bags", they were driven out of Nigeria in their thousands with no sense of direction or purpose, you just can’t go to another person’s land and start
procreating and dominating as if you own the place, most competent doctors,
lawyers, success story students who reside abroad are” black people”, We are just
pained because of human rights and civilization.
I have this uncle who is a citizen of three country’s
U.S.A, U.K and GERMANY, when I ask him why he doesn’t claim he's nationality
which is Nigeria, he laughed and asked me a question : “oreofe if I go missing
in Nigeria for two years only my family and friends will know, but if I so much
as don’t reply a message/visit from these country’s listed above I know rest
assuredly they will keep in touch, a country that doesn’t care for its citizens
is no country” when you sit down to do the statistics,
Ya! America, job security, dope
health care service, good schools, fast sleek cars, good roads, lunch out of
food packs, barbecue, designer shops, and just if you are lucky you can be seen
taking a selfie with a celebrity.
But is this all we really want in
life?
What happened to nationalism, patriotism, that spirit of oneness, of
responsibility, what happened to the color green and white, our rich culture,
exotic places and dishes? Everyone is running away from “Nigeria’s hot sun” but
we have all forgotten that if we build another man’s land and ours lay in
shambles where will our resting place be, nobody will develop your country for
you. We all complain and stomp our feet on the ground and after that the matter
dies down, Nigeria as a country suffers from chronic BRAIN DRAIN and our
economy is shedding tears like the Nile river, stop investing abroad and bring
your money to Nigeria, build companies right here, be employers of labor not
people who live fakes lives abroad imagine, why wash corpses to sustain
yourself abroad when Nigeria is in need of those muscles and skill?. Please my
people have a rethink and direct your legs back home.
