As I opened the door to the living room I was greeted by a big slap from my alcohol reeking husband, still in shock baba shade pounced on me and started beating me, I could have sworn they could hear my screams from the third building. They warned me but I didn't listen, all this miracle workings, black eyes, sleepless night, living from hand to mouth and abuse was caused by my hand!, oh I was the architect of my very own misfortune .       Trouble sat gentle on its throne, but my naive self pleaded it into my life, it all started when I was in ss2,

See me see TROUBLE

That one with the jumper trousers which is always over three inches above he's ankles, that shy, ugly boy who shaves all he's hair off, the one who is always seen at the university library with wrinkled clothes that have seen better days, no!!, this was the reaction to the statement

Hey AIESEC.

Hey guys am back, remember I told you about AIESEC week, so Ya! So we went to Danmango

Have that talk

Hey guys, my friend decided to contribute a little something:      In every relationship with the people we meet or people already in our lives, communication is a key player. Many times when there is no free flow of communication we often feel the SHIP of our RELATION with people called our loved ones, spouse, friends, co-worker and family is wrecking gradually and progressively, this is where we often channel our thoughts to, but come to think of it. Perhaps we don't have words or eventful moment to share, what do we do?... Should we go ahead with words and not make them colorful and young again? As a student of life I object to the continuity of a diminishing communication which lost it value in the heart of men and women who always and will continue to waste words on the platform of communication. You don't have to talk always, other times you just observe and develop the art of communication. Not having one thing or the other to say all the time, will help boost your value

How many fishes are really in the ocean

There is really no chance for girls in this world, Ya most guys of this generation just wanna shag , no one really want's to carry the mammoth responsibility of a relationship, I have endured several levels of shit from guys, Ya just let's be sex buddy's no strings attached, my girl friend is abroad and I need to fuck

My day 8

Day 8              Today was uneventful, I just taught the students, gave prizes to the serious ones, then I had a chat with David who gave me a shout out on twitter,i cooked, I eat chatted with some friends, we had check in, watched a movie, and am going to sleep. Did I forget to say this is AIESEC week, so guys some interesting activities going down.

my cosmic love.

His eyes, he's eyes I couldn't think of anything else, his lips were moving, he laughed, I smiled, but no I couldn't think, hear or see anything other than his eyes, those beautiful eyes, if only I could reach up and caress that face

Stop being a sloth

Dear university students as you pack your bags to go home I want you to take a break, breath in and think what am I going to do at home, am I just going to go home and sleep, eat and get fat or chill guy is it that loaded nkechi babe that you want to set parole for.       Dear get wise don't go and waste your summer period find productive things to do,  you can go for internship programs to increase you work experience and build your C. V. various companies are in need of people who are able to work and some of them pay reasonably well, you as person should put the salary you are given aside and make use of your opportunity and get productive.   Another thing you can do is take summer classes online, in this present age there exist many degrees an individual can get from his/her couch, some of them don't take up to two months to complete, and they are affordable, these degrees increase your worth as a worker.     If you are also interested in working, its time to dust

Day 7

That was how I went late to work on my first day, well I wasn't really late since the students had just finished assembly, I had fun teaching the kids, I never thought I was capable of teaching but see how things turned out. I came home, I and Michael eat then after resting for 2 hour's, I, Mary, Toba and tumise went for the afternoon class which we didn't participate in, am pretty sure if you had sprinkled water on me at that moment steam would have come out from my skin, I felt like an egg boiling in a pot of water.       Then the rain came down in buckets, everyone had to rush back home but me being OREOFE decided to walk ( you really don't want to see my hair right now) under the heavy droplet, but fear not I was not alone blessing and Cesar were with me, until Cesar slyed us and ran like he has shit he's pant, I almost caught a cold, Ya! We got home, kept warm, checked in and if you notice people I made a few changes to the blog, I had fun with Michael

Day 6

Hey guys, today was really flexi

Day 5

Day 5    I woke up pretty early, because we were to go have community service in a village called Kantro, On getting there I was shocked, guys do u remember when preachers say in some part of the country they don't wear cloth and we think they tell lies, Ya now I believe them!, OK they had clothes on but their living conditions were "wowing" they live in huts and the children can't speak English, they look so malnourished, but despite their living conditions they where happy and everywhere was peaceful and clean.        We taught the children subjects like mathematics, English, ict, French e. t. c. Toba,Titi,Tumise held a healthy care talk with the villagers, when we came back men I slept like a rock, woke up late, cooked, eat and carried my legs to a cinema with friends to watch a movie, then we celebrated Aretha's last night with AIESEC CUCG and that basically all I did today.      Ya starting work tomorrow, wish me luck guys.

Thou shall be gay

Everyone deserves a chance at happiness so why shouldnt I be happy, Nana said to me. This is the story of Nana, a 20 year old girl who thought she had the illusion of what love is meant to be, for Michael, her husband of 14 years. My love story with Michael began when he came to execute a project at my town of origin matanko, for me it was love at first glance, we started dating, but was met with different obstacles from the villagers and my parent because women/girls in my town don't marry strangers, but still we choose to stay together. Towards the completion of his project Michael proposed to me and I accepted, my family members chased me out of the house and I was segregated by the villagers. I haven't gone back home since then. Finally, I and Michael decided to go to his place of residence which was in Lagos since I had been excommunicated from my community. I got a small shop beside the house and began selling provisions, after one year of living together I go

I don't have a culture.

What we lost to colonialism     My friend Cesar was to present his culture for we AIESECAR'S to see, he came forward and said due to effect of colonialism on his country côte d'voire, most of he's country's culture was lost (they adopted the French culture) and most of them except you have lived in the village do not know their native language, native food or culture.      In his words he said "how can you learn if your father himself do not know". Colonialism has led to the culturally handicap of most African American countries, most Africans country's practice cultures of people who colonized them e. g FRANCE, BRITISH, GERMAN, PORTUGUESE, e. t. c. This is one of the problems affecting most Nigerian citizens, parents now consider teaching and speaking of native language as barbaric. The young lads don't also see a big deal in not knowing how to speak their native language. Everyone wants to speak in the "good morning tongue". Promoting one

Day 4.

Day 4 AIESEC.             I don't know it seems like everyday is better the last one. We had a general meeting today some other AIESEC members came over, we had some games, talked about the moment we would like to relieve again, what we loved about AIESEC.      We ended the first segment of the meeting and started the second segment, this was the bomb, we all changed into our various native attires, it was very colourful, then before me I saw heaven laid out on the table *yum*.              Guys I don't know, I feel like for every night am going to spend in Ghana I will always end up saying am too full to say full, men today was bam!, I tasted like over 11 different dishes from different countries, trust we Nigerians WAZOBIA!!! we made moi-moi. But you know the cultural integration was felt tonight, each of us eating from the same plate, So many flashes of camera lights and videos, I thought I was a model on a runaway or a person attending a photoshoot, it was gold

Day 3 AIESEC.

Day 3:      I was forced to wake up by the stinging sensation in my bladder,  did I stand up to use the bathroom NO, I maintained my position on the bed and was "gathering the will power to go do my business ". After recharging my battery's, I had my bath and Rukaya (we call her responsible) took me to where I was to work, guys I will be teaching the upper primary class students mathematics, Ya!. I came back from work and then my house mates decided to go for a swim, I had like mad fun today on getting to the pool, Louisa(she's German) a natural born fish lol taught Karima, Nike and Mary different strokes. David was just something else, he tried seizing he's breath under water, he gave us a scare by blowing bubbles (I thought he was going to drown)   Didn't swim tho, took some pictures and videos, eat pizza and Coca-Cola. In the process of drinking my Coca-Cola, some guys came in, anyone that says Ghana boys are not handsome should check again.    Let me

You killed them.

My dear readers, I wonder why!!Why do people believe so much in placing  tags on things, situations, statement e.t.c. Anybody could have said it, done it, acted according to the qualifications of "IT". There are many "IT"  of focus in our society today.      Take for instance president buhari's Election theme which is tagged change, almost everyone complains about the situation in Nigeria presently, high rates of exchange, high fuel price, terrorism, crisis here and there and they end the statement with "and we voted for change".    Really can I ask you a question, what exactly have you done to Further this change?, oh you are silent why am I not surprised.     Andrew!! yes you, that bought fuel from parallel market(black market) yesterday in order to escape the long line at the gas Station, you have diverted government revenue, encouraged the thriving of black market, probably alerted others of how "fast" it was for you to get fuel, tho

Eating healthy.

Hey guys, guess what this morning Oh I was jejeli surfing the net and I saw this recipe for smoothie, Ingredients: 1 ripe avocado Sugar just enough to sweeten And a tin of milk. Water Procedure: Wash the advocado, cut it in half, scoop the pulp (the buttery yellow green part), add sugar , just a little water to lighten it up, all this fine Ingredients should be put in the blender, when the mixture becomes smoother, then u add your milk preferably cold but not too cold, blend again to let the milk mix well and then you have  goodness in a cup       Yay!! I  tried it since avocado is really in season here at sunyani, I made a cup of creamy very creamy avocado smoothie, u should try it *wink*.

Wisdom

There is something about wisdom that appeals to the mind, wisdom is cutting your coat to your size and not helping others with their measurements.    Wisdom will tell you to be prudent in your spending, jenny give me never contented, give me this, give me that, i remember during this iphone 6 rush a friend of mine used up all her savings and pocket money for that month to buy a mobile phone, she would be seen begging for food from room to room haba aunty but u have an iphone 6 now you should be able to afford a cup of rice.          Aunty yemi i salute you, am sure if there was an award for most provocative female you will carry it. You can never catch aunty yemi in anything 2 inches below her knees, her wardrobe can open a strip shop, anytime she walks around campus they carry boys to the health centres, you need to see the traffic and accident aunty yemi causes on the road. Later if they rape them they will start crying and cursing, i know some people will say "cant the mascu

Day 2 AIESEC

Day 2:          OK yesterday night slash this morning we had amazing games which entails having character like werewolf, doctors, prey and members of a village, like you have to guess correctly who the werewolf was, unfortunately in the first round they almost killed all the innocent members of my village until when Titi the sage gave us an insight and yes we killed the big bad wolf *howlllll* guys it was awesome.    So this morning I woke up early, eat yes I didn't have my bath but I brushed my teeth Ahah am not a dirty girl now, I chatted with my housemates amazing guys toba and David, yay! I had my first Ghana bread today it cost me 1cedi that's like 80 naira and it was on point.           I just dragged around watching movies, sleeping around (like you know what I mean right, I don't mean around around I mean aroundddd on my bed) but as usual we had our check in by 7:10pm every one talked about their day, after the meeting something weird happened, I and my f

Pornography

So my friend olawale ibiyemi wrote a poem called pornography enjoy. Pornography We want to watch our mothers Clamber the hills of ecstasy And briskly touch ourselves in pursuit. The father without shame pummels His daughter with the rod Not meant for the child. The newly weded couple Throw the sanctity of secrecy to the gyre Of the camera; Lord we are watching. The woman is not our helpmate She is a device employed For the satisfaction of our concupiscence. Eve will not get pregnant And Adam will use no  raincoat Eve will not get pregnant. The priest sacred will orgasm, Spilling his seed unborn Onto the bossoms of his concubine: Eve never gets pregnant. We are blind because we Think we can See. Pursue sin we do wholeheartedly; And Death follows behind. We are blind because we Think we can See. Our little sister is naked, And we peep through the keyhole Briskly touching ourselves in pursuit of death. Then  Èsù  whispers, "why not open

Not the literal CHANGE.

To clear out corruption we must start from the bottom to the top we must start from the clerks in various department in governmental organisations who hide files because the contractor

Organizing in organization.

Oh hail business organisations who build gigantic building which have no services to provide.   So I stepped into a bank to perform a transaction, from the point of entry they had faulty doors,  on getting into the bank it was over crowded and someone asked if they were performing a promo, the problem was half of the bank counter slot was empty, the number of staff tendering service were not enough, yet we cry that there is no job in Nigeria, if these various organizations refuse to recruit how possible is it for graduate to get jobs.     Let even forget that one, the security of most bank is not strong, c this man across counting and packaging money, Na WA oh una bank no get covered room Abi.   This frustration is causing an Hausa man to start speaking Yoruba, I no fit laugh Ohhhh.      Nigeria oh!! Biko let me step aside before someone that is not my age mate will come and push me.

On a faithful night I was coming from a friend's place, I met a girl sitting by the side of the road crying,

Integrity

My brother integrity is not measured by the fistful chunks of money in your pocket, or by your position on the Google charity list of the year, nor by how many worship and health centres you have under your name. It is not the your hair, skirt or gown length. Integrity is knowing what is right and doing good by it, not wanting to put your fellow comrade in jeopardy, wanting the progress of the nation. I look forward to a nation Where moral as well as legal standings both have unyielding power. where the rich and the poor are considered equal not by the word of mouth or by the scribbling on paper but by a sense of moral justice set in stone. A world where I as a woman am free to achieve my dreams not being castigated for wanting more than the square walls of a kitchen.

Love yourself

Adura is a girl who looks at herself every morning and laments how I wish I was slim and pretty maybe then he would like me, maybe those people would stop looking at me with the familiar recognition of self pity in their eyes, so she resulted to taking sliming pills and herbal teas.

Security in Nigeria

I always secretly thought my father was paranoid, having over four security gates inside the house, he will always tell us every time, close that kitchen door, lock this door, bolt that door, trust me when I say we all knew the drill like our daily prayer book, OREOFE who folded this curtain!, don't you know people can see you from outside. All this seems stressful and sometimes I often got annoyed doing it until when our unwanted friends came visiting.     I have this uncle who is a citizen of three countries, for him Nigeria has nothing to offer him. OREOFE if I go missing in Nigeria nobody will know but if I don't respond or become active my country's government will look for me until they find me.      Our fathers have learnt to sleep with one eye open and our mothers have their precious jewels at their bosom. Security doesn't Only bother on the physical aspect it's extended to various sectors such as food security, health security, social security.

Can of worms

Hey guys, I wrote something and decided to post it here. They said You opened up a can of worms which she kept sealed. They said You broke open a healing wound, you put her in turmoil, you set her spinning round and round again on a roller coaster of emotions, all this you heard from hushed tones. Then the hushes become clearer, just like always he left her to bear the pain, the hurt, uncertainty, confusion as some even flirted with the idea of, if she wondered what if your life ended as fast as she pressed harder on the cold blade dripping with regret, puddles of sorrow forming at their feet, with a face void of expression, just a blank cold cold figurine. For they said the can of worms you set free  eat her up eventually.

Self respect

Self respect is something Nigerians have thrown out the window, the level of respect among Nigerians is alarming.              Imagine I went to the market few days back and all form of strange fingers

My AIESEC journey

My desire to try out new things led me to the doorsteps of the CUCG hostel for AIESEC interns here in Ghana. Day 1:              OK people am going to give you the breakdown of how my day went down,  not because you want to know but because I wanna post it *tongue sticking out*. OK having boarding the bus for 24hrs+ we got to sunyani AIESEC house by 6am Ghana time. The officials had to make space for us Yaya!! I love my roommates one studies law and the other agriculture, how cool is that!           After freshening up, taking a nap, played some board games,we headed for the market got some stuff, came back cleaned up the very nasty kitchen, cooked and eat, had exercises plus they had this very interesting thing they do every night around 7:30pm daily called "check in", you tell people how your day went and the officials tell you some activities that are to be performed.     It's really cool out here, I mean not being to Ghana before am prepared to exchange
