You this small girl.


      AUNTY O! he asked me how old i was
and i replied in a classy way "a girl never tell's her real age" people around went all ahhhh all this girls sef so i finally told him i was going to be 18 years old and alas i receive this nasty look from people and comments like '"so you are small and i have been talking to you", "i should send you on errands", "do you know when i passed that age" alas my classiness washed down the drain. Through out that day i was the object of ridicule at that gathering.

         There is this believe that a woman does not tell her age, and I have come to understand why that is,
   
         To the best of my understanding your age doesn't to an extent determine your level of maturity, I have this friend who is 17 years of age, but she looks 23 and trust me when I say she is wise, the day she announced to a set of people that she was getting a year older and clocking 18 that was the beginning of her insecurity and her self esteem went sliding down the drainage pipe. People started seeing her as a child, started making rude comments and separating her from discussion she would have participated in before.
  
       But why all these stress over a number tag?

    Itz all abt we Nigerians thinking age and maturity go together but there wrong to some extent some pple mature more than there age and some mature with their age in wisdom and responsibility.
